||2016 Home Tutor position (qualified teacher or experienced home tutor)
The family is an outgoing, fun, horsey, country family living on the Barkly in Newcastle Waters (NT). The four children consist of a girl in Yr2, a boy in Yr1, a boy in preschool and a 3 year-old boy at home.
Successful applicants will need to be bright and bubbly, proactive, and display a can-do attitude to join our team. Most importantly they need to be genuinely interested in and enjoy teaching children. Tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.
Previous Governess Experience or Teaching experience Preferred.
Apply first aid (Senior first Aid).
Manual Driver's license (own vehicle would be an advantage).
Working with Children Check or relevant State equivalent.
A love for the outdoors and station life - experience around horses would be looked upon favourably.
Duties will include:
Coordinate and supervise the daily school lessons and educational program.
Assist individual children with the social, emotional or behavioural skills that are needed.
Maintain regular contact with teachers via the phone, email and reporting system.
Actively engage with and provide feedback to parents.
Encourage participation in and develop extra-curricular activities, such as arts and crafts and sport.
Attend extra-curricular activities in a supervisory role, both on-station and off-station.
Perform other duties and assume responsibilities as assigned.
The air-conditioned school room is well equipped with stationery, arts and craft supplies, books and development toys, and has two computers for children's lessons
A genuine commitment to stay to the end of the school year is preferred to ensure continuity of the children's education.
